Week: 12
Date: 22 June - 28 June
By: Mei Yi

I had a hard time trying to design the tunku house which is the maze. Because several things I will have to consider before drawing it. Firstly, I have no idea how Tunku house is like and I can't make it too modern as well as it is in the olden days. So I probably have to make it as simple as possible so as not to make it too fanciful.

I am halfway done with scenes! :)

June 28 2009 WEEK 12

Name: Wee You

I started working on Level 4 today. Part one of Level four is very similar to Level two, so I managed to finish it quite fast. Part two of level four is also another drag and drop game, about creating a lantern.
I didn’t manage to finish it though, as school work is very heavy recently.

This week I'm done with level 5...halfway through!!...Level 5 was more of the easier ones to draw out for animation...It only has 3 scenes...and I have started on level 6...done with the first scene...

Level 6 prove to be a little bit more difficult..it's setting is a Hindu wedding...it looks simple but the details are a bit tedious...got a little tired of doing the first scene..got the priest, the groom,a little flowery stuff for deco and the fire thingy...after this,I have to draw out the bride...that is going to be a challenge...compared to the groom, the indian bride's costume is mostly full of details...i'll probably simplify the costume...time is of the essence here...

I still haven't done the dialogues recording and there's also the animation....gotta work fast!!...

Week: 11
Date: 15th June - 21th June
By: Mei Yi

I have continued with Level 10 drawings. I have moved on to second scene where it's going to be a maze. The maze is in the Tunku house. So I am drawing the neccessary graphics to make it like a tunku house. But I have already finished drawing the items that are required in the scene. In this scene, player is required to get the neccessary items to rescue Tunku from the terrorists. A bit of animation is required and I have completed that as well. Now I am half way done with designing the house.

June 21 2009 WEEK 11

Name: Wee You

I received an update in level one graphics today. The artists have come out with a mini tutorial for the player. This tutorial is in a form of a movie clip, where each frame is a page of the tutorial. So basically, what I have to do (and what I did) is to play the frames according to the progress of the player.

June 21 2009 WEEK 11

Name: Peifen

I’ve finished the maze prototype but I predict there might be some errors when I put the real graphic in. But let’s just leave it here and proceed to stage 3 which is of a shooting genre. As this is a genre no one in my group has done yet. Once again I’m off to do research.

Week: 10
Date: 8th June - 14th June
By: Mei Yi

This week I have touched on level 1 to add in more elements. In a way to make the level 1 like a tutorial stage for beginners. Player will have a choice to choose whether or not to play along with the tutorial on. The tutorial will hint and give a lot of tips to assist player in the game. Basically I will just have to add in text here and there in the screen. All the tips are already given by Begum. Thanks leader.

I have also started with Level 10. First scene requires 5 characters so yesterday I have finished drawing all of them. Next I will have to move on the to scene drawings. Hopefully I can finish it by this week.

June 14 2009 WEEK 10

Name: Wee You

I’ve been working on Level 3 for the whole week. The third scene of a game is about getting an item without getting seen by the terrorist. I researched and used currentFrame variable in order to check whether the terrorist is “looking at me”. Because the graphics for the character is not ready yet, the game now uses a moving dustbin. Haha!
June 14 2009 WEEK 10

Name: Peifen

Meiyi has already started to do level 9 (which was level 10 in original GDD) I’ve been trying think of ways of coding this game as there is four scenes and all four scene are of different genres. I’ve decide to do the stage 2 maze prototype first as I could ask weeyou for tips. I’m using dummy now hopefully I can get the graphic soon.

June 7 2009 WEEK 9

Name: Wee You

Today, I learnt about using gotoAndPlay();. This useful function can change frames accordingly. By using this function, I can implement Level 3 as it involves changing of frames. Also, I can improve on level two. Level two is about dragging and dropping the ingredients into the pot. By using gotoAndPlay();, I can change the outlook of the pot, as Meiyi provided different outlook of the pot in different frames.
I did not manage to do level 3 as school assignment deadlines were coming up.
June 7 2009 WEEK 9

Name: Peifen

After looking through level 9, I think that the design is too big a scale for our artist. As level 9 gameplay designed by me, I decide to cut down the content. When I was designing this level, I added a lot of gamestory element inside. And it’s seems impossible to create all that now. Beside cutting down on the content, I’m also coming up with lists of things I need so that I could inform the artists. After all these, I finally sit down to link of how to code this level.
Week: 9
Date: 1st June - 7th June
By: Yani

This week I managed to touch on level 3 on my animation...manage to finish a few scenes...bt couldn't really do much because of other assignments...hope to make better progress...

I caught some videos on Adobe Premiere Pro...It was good to watch them as it teaches you how to mesh your video and sound together...I might need it to mesh my animation and sound together...I manage to have some experience doing it for an assignment recently...It is tedious!!...But I used a SoThink Converter...got it on trial...I can directly mesh my swf file and wav file together and it helps to convert it to avi file...it's easy to mesh...bt the synching part is hell!!...I did the editing on flash as the program don't have the feature of editing or synching...it does the meshing only...it was tiresome...bt it was good because I learnt something that I can use here...so gotta work fast...there's still much to do for my part...

Work..work...work!!...

Week: Nine
Date: 1 June - 5 June
Name: Mei Yi

Well, i am finally done with level 4! It's like really, finally. It looks simple to draw the graphics, but it's really tedious and brain cracking! In a way that I must think of a way to let the animation run smooth and make it more interesting.

Moving on to level 9, which is the level that i wanted to do. But i was stuck with the first scene. The first scene is about how the player is going to escape the guard's sight. It's in a very dark area, and the player will have to find his/her way through without being caught by the guard. The guard will be petrolling around the area with their torchlight. So the graphics require the torch to shine in front of the guard's pathway when the guards are moving around. I tried very hard to think of a way to draw it. But i was still unsure so I asked help from Choon Ming and Begum. Begum said that she should know how to do it, so this level is handled over to her.

Now i am about to start off with level 10! Hopefully i can do it as soon as possible. :)
